The first of the four roles for the upcoming TITANS live action TV series has been filled, as Australian actress Teagan Croft has been cast for the role of Raven. She’s only 13 years old, and her Role as Raven appears to be as close to the comics as possible with her description as “A loner more comfortable hiding in her hoodie than making friends, the daughter of a demon, and a powerful empath who must keep her emotions in check or risk unleashing her demonic side”.
The other three members of the Titans that will be in the show are Robin, Starfire and Beast Boy. Their depictions, however, will be much different than what we are used to seeing on Comedy Central. Robin’s character will be a cop, which is what he was back in the 90’s when he joined the police department as an infiltrator to try and rid it of corruption. Beast Boy is set up as an amateur thief, which could be how he and Robin meet up. Starfire and Raven will be similar to their comic counterparts, but no details have been released regarding how the four will team up to form the Titans.
TITANS will be a direct to consumer series and is currently set to release sometime in 2018. No release date has been set yet, but the show will be the first one in DC’s new direct to consumer digital network. We’ll keep you updated with more casting as we hear it.
